http://creatingsparks.com.gridhosted.co.uk/?endonezit=best-binary-option-broker-uk Following our topic The Big Freeze, we decided to go to the sealife centre to look at the penguins. Whilst there, we also visited the other creatures. The centre was very busy but the children were extremely well behaved. When walking around the centre, the children decided to tell the staff lots of the facts that we had found out! It’s nice to know that they had been listening 🙂 We had a great day and lots of the children fell asleep on the way back!

http://wcminerals.com.au/?gvozd=binary-options-hard&0fc=7f We stroked donkeys, watched Piper painting a sea scene, had seaside food-ice cream, chips and candy floss, used clay to create mini polar animals, played on the beach (sort of!) and much much more.

Jack and Jill on PhotoPeach
We have been going maths mad this term! As the weather has been nicer (on occasion!) we have managed to do some learning outside. For this activity, outside was definitely the best option!!

We have been learning about capacity. We played a game called Jack and Jill where the children had to work in teams to fill their pails of water up the quickest.

The children investigated different sized containers, the speed in which they ran and how full their pot was. They decided that to fill their bucket the quickest, they needed to use the biggest container but only half fill it as that meant they didn’t spill any water.

Great team work everyone!

The children have been learning about fractions this term. To help them to understand fractions, we made a fraction fruit salad for Lennon the Lion and his friend Argo!

The children had to share the fruit equally to make them a fruit salad. The children investigated what whole, half and quarters meant. We learnt lots but had fun too. The best bit was eating it at the end. Educational and yummy!

The Big Freeze

This term the children have been learning about The Big Freeze. The children have learnt how to find information on computers to help create fact files on the animals that live in the Arctic and Antarctic.

The fact files are AMAZING!! Ask your child some facts about penguins and polar bears. They may surprise you!!

Bluebells on PhotoPeach

Our school is hoping to develop part of the field into an area we can use for our Forest Schools project. We have recently had some trees planted but wanted it to look more like a woodland.

Each child in school was given three bluebells to plant.

As year 1 are doing Gigantic Growth this term, it fitted in well! We discussed how to plant the bulbs and what they needed to grow.

Look out for a sea of blue at the top of the hill!!

Thank you
